Everyone loves chocolate! But only a few know how chocolate is connected to justice. On a stimulating and playful walk in Zurich's fresh air, we take a look behind the scenes of the industry. Fine chocolate and other sensory experiences to smell and touch are of course included.
You will learn how and where cocoa is grown and processed, but above all, which people are involved in the value chain, how cocoa is traded, who benefits and who loses out. It also addresses the question of what you can do personally to improve the living conditions of cocoa farmers in the Global South. You will get an overview of fair trade and the variety of labels, learn about new approaches such as "bean to bar" and friendly small producers and find out what the problems in the cocoa and chocolate sector have to do with money.
The walk starts at the forecourt of the Landesmuseum, ends in Niederdorf and takes about 2 hours in total. It may be canceled in very bad weather.
