Underwater love is part of our surprise dinner concept.
It all began in Paris. When we three restaurateurs Mai-Thu, Mirjam and Mai spent a weekend there in search of new culinary inspiration. What we particularly liked were the restaurants that served fish and seafood in such a modern and playful way. Much of it was raw, surprisingly combined, internationally inspired, fresh and light. Accompanied by good bread, fine wines and, of course, the obligatory dessert at the end.
We realized that this was exactly what was missing in Zurich. We wanted to change that and are now bringing savoir vivre from Paris and modern fish and seafood cuisine to Zurich. underwater love as a pop-up name perfectly expresses our love for it. Where does our love of good food and especially fish come from? After graduating from cooking school in Paris, Mirjam expanded her fishing experience in Helsinki, among other places. Mai grew up in a beach town in Japan where fresh fish is part of daily life and Mai-Thu was exposed to French culture at an early age. Mai-Thu and Mai are also the managers of Banh Mi, the Vietnamese take-out at Viadukt. Mirjam is a private chef in Zurich and cooks for private and business events. We serve a surprise menu in 5 courses to share, which includes raw or cooked fish or seafood in each course. The menu is inspired by Paris but plays with various international influences. The products are seasonal and either local or from the sea.
